A Reddit Search Engine To Avoid Googling “something… + Reddit”

The Frustration Of Google Search

Since I don’t know when, I have always been searching Google like this: How to …… + reddit.

I also don’t like the Google search result without the term “reddit”, because it is either promoting some most famous sites (boring or paid?), some ChatGPT Quora answers, or some content farm articles.

“Query + reddit” results are much more organic and social based.

It is not just one random guy/bot who wrote an SEO based article just to rank high, but with actual people engaged with the topic, giving real feedbacks.

Google usual scenario

Imagine you want to know “How to play a guitar”.

Now, when you click inside the first link, here’s how it looks:

What is a guitar

blah blah blah continue 300 words.

Why Should You Learn To Play A Guitar

blah blah blah...... etc

How to pick your guitar
so on so on 300 words.
....
...
.
Finally Here: This is how to play a guitar

This is just annoying.

That’s why I created a standalone reddit search engine.

Here it is:

https://searchonreddit.hongct.net

Main Features

  • Author searching
  • Subreddit searching
  • Sorting
  • Clean UI

There are some other reddit search tool out there, but most of it doesn’t work anymore or overcomplicated.

I thought to myself, why not just make my own? I can learn something along the way too.

So, I did learn a lot from this project. : )

Enjoy.
